Personal
Statement
I am in my first year of Laswap Sixth form,
studying Digital photography and Media creation Level 3.
I have had previous work experience from
places such as working at a hair salon, by having this experience I have
benefited from it in a range of ways, some of the ways consist of learning
useful skills that would benefit me in the future for example, communication
skills; by having this skill, it has taught me how to talk to customers and
engage with them by helping them with their needs and requirements, Team
leadership skills; by having this skill, it has helped me work well with a team
and help by communicating and sharing different ideas that might be useful for
the business.
In addition to this I have also done a
range of volunteering work, this consists of doing a Easter hunt for a children’s
center called Noah’s Ark; for this I got to work with younger children and help
them with the Easter egg hunt, the skills I have gained from this is teamwork
as I had to work as a team with other teachers and members of staff to help out
with the children there and keep them entertained as well as safe.
What attracts me into being a costume
designer is I have always had an interest in fashion and trends, and with this
I have always been very creative and have had an eye for style. By being a
costume designer I would have access to all types of fashion, which is what I
enjoy, I would also get to create costumes and outfits depending on what the
directors would want.
With the skills that I have, they can
benefit me with this particular job role for example working as a team; I would
need a team in this role as I would have more than one actor/actress to dress
and get ready by having a team and working together, it would speed up the
process of getting the characters prepared and ready.
Also some of the skills that I have that
can benefit me in this career are having great imagination; with this I can be
more creative and create some of the outfits and costumes using my imagination
and my knowledge on fashion and trends. In addition to this, by having really
good organizational skills, it can help me with keeping on track and on time
with the costumes I would have to create and make sure everything is organized.
These are all the skills that are needed to
become a professional costume designer.
